You can get an idea of routes that were designed to avoid the busiest roads and the relative distances by looking at the route map for Tour De Lopez. Find out more about Tour De Lopez - our annual non-competitive bike ride, held in April each year.
Getting to Lopez with bicycles can be tricky. If you travel by car on the ferry, be aware that your bicycle mounted on top of the car may result in overheight fees. Bicycles mounted on the rear or carried on a trailer may increase your vehicle length and result in a higher fare. Be sure you understand the length and height requirements for each fare category. See WSF fares.
For bike rentals, see our Directory - Bicycling. Some lodgings provide bicycles for guests - so be sure to check before you come.
For non-emergencies for fire, EMS or sheriff, call (360) 378-4151.
Please be aware that the roads on Lopez are narrow, rural roads often without much shoulder and can be very busy, especially in the summer. Please see our Bicycling Tips below for the safety of you and your family as well as the others on the roads.
