2012 Lopez Island Lions Club 33st Annual Fourth of July
10K Run    5K Run    5K Walk    1 Mile Romp (NEW)

Scenic courses through a pastoral setting with water views.  Shirts have a Lopez Island scene.  Enjoy the parade, hamburger BBQ and other Fourth of July Activities in the Village following the awards.

Forms and entry fee checks can be made out to the Lopez Lions Club and dropped off at Diana Hancock's office (175 Village Road) or mailed to Jerry Hancock @ P.O.Box 160, Lopez Island, WA 98261.  Lions will also be registering runners and walkers in front of the Lopez Village Market on July 2nd and 3rd .   If you have any questions, I can be reached at (360) 468-3871. 

Description: Scenic courses through a pastoral setting with water views. This year’s shirt has a picture of the historic Lopez Water Tower in the village. Enjoy the parade, hamburger BBQ and other 4th of July activities in the village after the awards.
Course: Both courses are electronically timed for each individual, start and end in Lopez Village, are mildly challenging and have a long, gradual downhill finish. The 10K course is point to point; the 5k course is out and back.
Awards: Unique Lopez awards are given to the first overall male and female finisher in the 10K and 5K runs. Awards are also given to the first three male and female finishers in each age division in each of the three events.
Registration: Is now open and participants may register on line at active.com, or by downloading the forms (links at top of this page), or picking up a registration packet at the Chamber office. Race day registration will be at Islander's Bank in Lopez Village.
Late registration: If you get things done about the same speed as everyone else, you can register in front of the Lopez Village Market on Monday, July 2nd or Tuesday, July 3rd between 12 noon and 4 pm.
Panic registration: If you wake up feeling really good on the 4th of July and decide this is your day, you can register until 8 am at the Lopez Community Center Pavilion. A nice little jog to the bank will have you warmed up for the race start. (Race day registration costs an additional $5. But, if you are feeling good....)
Schedule: 8:00 am Runs and Walk start; 10:15 am awards presented at Islanders Bank Start/Finish area.
Divisions: 12 and under (5K events only)
13 to 19
20 to 29
30 to 39
40 to 49
50 to 59
60 to 69
70 to 79
80 to 89
90 and older participants receive an award and a free haircut from the Lopez Barber in the Ville.
Entry Fee: Adults $15, 12 and under $10, (T-shirts an additional $10).
Race Day Registration: Add $5 (applies to all events)
Turning in your completed packet: Completed registration forms may be mailed with a check to: Lions Club Fun Run, Attention: Jerry Hancock, Post Office Box 160, Lopez Island, WA 98261-0160. Or/ dropped off at the law office of Diana G. Hancock, next door to the old pharmacy building.
