The Chamber office is now on a new fall/winter schedule, open Wednesday through Saturday 11am-3pm, and closed Sunday through Tuesday.  Accordingly, the Lopez List will now go out every other Wednesday. 

The Lopez Chamber will be holding our Fall General Membership Meeting on Tuesday, September 30th, 2014 at 5:15pm at the Galley Restaurant and Lounge. There will be snacking and discussion, hope to see you there!

Savor the San Juans is taking place again this October and will be a mixed medley of food, farms and art including winemaker's dinners, harvest festivals, farm events, and specials at some of the finest lodgings and restaurants on Lopez, Orcas and San Juan Island.

There is still time to submit the name of your favorite candidate for the annual Dolly and Andy Holland Lopez Spirit Award.  Candidates must be Lopezian (individuals, couples and partners) who have consistently improved the lives of all Lopezians.  Deadline for submissions is September 30th.  The Lopez Spirit award will be announced this fall and celebrated at an island-wide potluck later this year.  You may submit your candidate(s) via forms available at the Lopez Library, from the reader board at Lopez Village Market, at the Lopez Community Center office, or online at http://www.lopezcenter.org/goto.php?page=spirit&return=close

Batty Lopez! - A Final Lopez Library Summer of Science Event6-8pm, Lopez Island Library - Community Room, Corner of Fisherman Bay Rd & Hummel Lake Rd, Lopez Village, Lopez Island is home to at least 10 species of bats, including several rare and unusual bats such as Townsend's Big-Eared Bat and Long-Eared Myotis. Lopez Bike Tour & Harvest Festival10:30am-4pm, Port Stanley School, 2970 Port Stanley Road, Bicycle to visit & tour three working farms, and a chance to meet & greet Lopez farmers. After tour, we'll gather at the historic Port Stanley Schoolhouse to enjoy music and a delicious harvest feast of locally-produced food and drinks  Tea & Scones - 10:30-11am, Farm tour by bike – 11am-1:30pm.(arrive by10:45am for 11:00 departure.) Harvest Feast 1:30-4pm.  Biking distance is about 4 miles round-trip. If you're not a biker, but want to join us for the harvest feast only, you may!  $25 per person. Registration & RSVP required. Evening Meal at School5:30pm, Lopez School - Multi Purpose Room, 86 School Road, Evening Meals at School are communal, organic meals of local, seasonal food served four times during the school year in the Lopez School cafeteria. Chef Jean Perry (owner of Vortex Café) collaborates to create the gourmet menus, while a team of 25 volunteers glean and donate produce, handle publicity, create floral centerpieces, set tables, serve food and clean up afterwards.
