Book Release Party – Hands at Work

Come celebrate the publication and release of a new book, Hands at Work - Portraits and Profiles of People Who Work with Their Hands, by Iris Graville and Summer Moon Scriver. Iris and Summer will read and share photographs from the book and will introduce people profiled (most of them from Lopez). To be held at Lopez Community Center. Admission is Free.
Much Ado About Nothing

Much Ado About Nothing is a comedy by William Shakespeare. First published in 1600, it is likely to have been first performed in the autumn or winter of 1598-1599, and it remains one of Shakespeare`s most enduring and exhilarating plays on stage. To be held at LCCA, Admission $15
King Lear

King Lear is a tragedy by William Shakespeare, believed to have been written between 1603 and 1606, and is considered one of his greatest works. The play is based on the legend of King Leir of Britain. It has been widely adapted for stage and screen, with the part of Lear being played by many of the world`s most accomplished actors. Puppets on the Rock: Cinderella

Poor Cinderella wants to go to the ball, but she has nothing to wear until a magic dove transforms into her Fairy Godmother. The Carters found and translated a 19th century Venetian puppet script for this version of the classic fairytale. Commedia dell`Arte clown, Pulcinella, plays the role of palace herald and assists the prince in finding the true owner of the glass slipper. To be held at LCCA, tickets Adult $10, Youth $8.
Sustainable Living in the San Juan Islands

Sustainable Living Thanksgiving Contra Dance • with Carol Noyes - Banjo, Matt Hummel - Fiddle, Clyde Curley - Guitar, and Marlin Prowell - Caller. Join with family and friends, young and old of all ages, and both new and experienced dancers, in an inter-island celebration of Sustainable Community Living in the San Juan Islands. This is only the first of our monthly inter-island hoedowns with more Dance/Breakfast/Forums to look forward to in December on San Juan, in January on Orcas, and in February back on Lopez. $10 for adults, $15 for families, $5 individual students
