San Juan Transit has started a summer shuttle on Lopez Island on the weekends, Friday through Sunday as well as Labor Day. Please check the Lopez Chamber office, See www.sanjuantransit.com for the current schedule or download HERE.

Support Lopez Island with your vote! Kenmore Air wants you to vote for your favorite island in the San Juans. Choose from San Juan Island, Orcas Island or Lopez Island. Paper Scissors on the Rock has opened in their new location in the old Lopez Village Market building between Island Body and Fitness and the new Village Cycles. Come and see the new merchandise and fabulous newly remodeled store! Our NEW HOURS are Mon. – Sat. 9:00 am – 5:30 pm, and Sun. 10 am -4 pm. Open seven days a week!

The Just Heavenly Fudge Factory  in the Village has expanded and opened their new Ice Cream Parlor!!! Our NEW HOURS are 10:00 am to 6:30 pm seven days a week! Come and see all of the wonderful new changes!

Village Cycles has opened in their new location next door to Paper Scissors on the Rock in the old Lopez Village Market Building. Come see our great new shop and check out our merchandise and awesome bicycles! Our hours are Mon. – Fri. 10 am -5 pm, and Sat. and Sun. 10 am – 4 pm. We are open seven days a week!

Lopez Island Reality has opened in their new location in the Lopez Village Plaza Building between the Barber in the Ville and the Lopez Bookshop. We are open Tues. – Sat. 9 am – 5 pm. Come by and pick up a free catalogue of all listed Lopez properties!

Geology of Lopez Island - Lopez Library's Summer of Science -6-7pm, Lopez Island Hospice and Support, 178 Weeks Road, Lopez Village,  We welcome long-time Lopezian and Professor Emeritus of Geology, Donn Charnley as guest speaker to this event which follows the annual reception honoring our library volunteers. You Are Making History Picnic 11am-4pm, Lopez Island Museum, Lopez Village Park, 28 Washburn Place, Lopez Village,  The Lopez Island Historical Society is hosting a community picnic. In addition to a great afternoon of music produced by Bill Johnson, we'll have activities for the kids and storytelling for both kids and adults. Lopez Open Tennis Tournament 9am, August 1 -3, Lopez Island Tennis Courts, Center Road just south of Lopez School, The 14th annual Lopez Open Tennis Tournament. As in the past few years we will use the popular round robin format for the early rounds. Categories of play include Singles, Mixed Doubles, Men's Doubles and Women's Doubles. Wildlife of the Galapagos 5pm, Lopez Island Library, Corner of Fisherman Bay Rd & Hummel Lake Rd,  Lopez Village, Photographer Peter Cavanaugh will present 18 photographs on endemic and resident species - Marine Iguana, Galapagos Flightless Cormorant, Blue Footed Booty and more - taken during a February 2014 visit to the Galapagos. In his lecture he will discuss the individual photos and reflect on how observations in the Galapagos have contributed to our understanding of evolution. Concours D'elegance - the Lopez Way 10:30am, Lopez Island Elementary School, Corner of Center Road and School Road,  Our annual car party showcasing the antique, unique and unusual cars. We meet at the school around 10:30/11:00. Depart the school just before noon heading north on Center Road, to Fisherman Bay Road, to Weeks Road and circle around the village and then south on Fisherman Bay Road to 121 Coffelt for a picnic lunch.
