WA STATE FERRIES: Recent changes in the reservation system: Please note that when sailing with a reservation from Anacortes to the San Juans, you must be through the ticket booth 30 minutes before your departure time or you will lose your reservation. (The old rule was one had to be in line for the ticket booth.)  The second change is you can now make reservations 2 hours ahead of a sailing instead of 3 hours.

To make a ferry reservation, please visit - www.takeaferry.com  You will find helpful links on this page regarding the reservation system.

SATURDAY- July 16, 2016

Antique Two-Cylinder John Deere Tractor Tour 10:30am-6:15pm The sixth, and perhaps the last, tour of Lopez Island. These tractors and owners plus family and friends have enjoyed this tour of Lopez Island beginning in year 2004. Tour is a special event sponsored by the Cascade Two-Cylinder Club. Tractor owners, many of whom have farming backgrounds have restored these old tractors, mostly from the late 1940s and through the 1950s to like-new condition. Tour Route
10:30 AM- Start engines, Begin parade.
10:45-11:15 AM -Spencer Spit State Park for rest stop and visit Spencer Spit.
11:45 AM- Start parade en-route to Lopez Village  via Cross Rd. to Military Rd. to Lopez Rd. Tractors gather on Lopez Rd prior to entering village.
12:15 to 12:30 PM- Arrive Lopez Village. Park tractors on Lopez Community Center grounds. Drivers observe directions from parking attendants. Tractors will be on public display during lunchtime.
12:30 to 2:15PM- Guests are invited to enjoy lunch available from an assortment of restaurants, deli’s, Village Market or bring-your-own and to explore Saturday Market and other shops…. or explore the Historic Museum or take a stroll around the area.  Village map and suggestions are available from Lopez Members.
 2:15 PM- Return to Tractors and prepare for Start.  Start engines and assemble for a round-trip sight-seeing tour to the peninsula via Fisherman Bay Rd and Bayshore Rd.
3:00 PM-Drive to historic Land Bank Preserve  via Peninsula Rd. Gather at Preserve for sightseeing and stroll on trails.
4:15 PM- Return to village via Bayshore Rd and Fisherman Bay Rd. Arrive at Village and take a brief restroom pause at village park.
4:30 PM- Depart for ferry landing.  Decision on routing will be made, depending on drive time remaining.  Park tractors in lineup for 6:15 PM ferry to Anacortes.

SUNDAY July 17, 2016

Theology and Film 6pm Join us to explore the intersection of theology and film. Throughout the summer we will be meeting to discuss how media and the arts can better inform our understanding and relationship with each other and God. This first week we will watch Goodwill Hunting together at 6pm and then at 8pm we will discuss and hear feedback! Popcorn and light snacks will be provided but feel free to contribute some as well! Literary Salon 7pm-9pm Monthly Literary Salon, giving readers the opportunity to discuss and share their favorite recent read. This is a “no-guilt” salon. Taking place on the third Tuesday of every month, participants can show up without anything to share, drop-ins are welcome. You may also request to be placed on an e-list which will remind you of the next Salon and send you the most recent booklist. "Lands Unknown" With Landscape Architect Nathan Hodges 4pm Is climate change already impacting Lopez Landscapes? What can we expect in the coming decades as the changing global climate comes to our shores, forests and gardens? What can we do to create a landscape on Lopez that can adapt and also buffer our shifting and uncertain climate? Join Nathan Hodges as he examines this discussion through the lens of shorelines, pollinators and more, exploring shifting trends and possible adaptations. Free to all.
